Fic Master Post: Smallville

It has been brought to my attention (by AO3 which is my favorite site for fic posting, cause they keep track of this kind of stuff for you. And the tags! I freaking go crazy with the tags. Though TtH has some really nice graphs, like this one where they keep track of your most used character by word count and... ahem, focus) that I actually have more fic for Smallville than I do for all my other fandoms combined. Therefore, a separate Master Post seemed in order.

Completely unrelated...

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you"

In point of fact, that is exactly what, by definition, that means. The definition of paranoia is: "suspicion and mistrust of people or their actions without evidence or justification." If they really are after you, then the reality of the situation would justify your fears meaning you aren't paranoid. I'm just saying.

Ugh, it's one of those assholes...

And by those assholes, I'm specifically reffering to those pedantic as fuck people who want to commplain about how, 'um actually, if you watch scene 5 in season 3, episode 16, you'll see that canonically blah, blah, blah.' And by pedantic as fuck, I am, of course, refering to myself. (Ha! Didn't see tht one coming, did you?) But seriously, I know it seems annoying to a lot of people, and they wonder 'who's going to care if I had Monroe say his favorite color was green when he actually said in 'Organ Grinder' that it's red?' The answer is me, I will care. And I also know that sometimes you have some really great story you want to tell, but there's just this one canon thing in the way. Fine, throw an author's note on there that says 'I know Isobel said that Clark was still a virgin in season 4, but that's dumb so...' and we're good. Or if you're doing a whole lot of changing around, just slap on an AU tag and be done with it. Because if you don't tell me that you're changing the canon, I'm going to assume that you don't know you're changing the canon, and then I go to my rage-place. All of these writers have acess to the internet, I know this for a fact, so use it to do a little research. You know how long it took to confirm my suspicious that replicators weren't in use in the Star Trek universe until very late into the 23rd century at the very earliest? Less in a minute. And yet, from the evidence of basically every single TOS and AOS fic out there, I'm the only one who bothered to do so. I know a lot of published author's get away with minimal research (my main take-away from Eragon was the Christopher Paolini does not understand the difference between vegetable soup and boiling hot water with raw vegetable in it) but I'm holding all of you to a higher standard. Okay? Okay.

I was watching the ST:DS9 episode "Invasive Procedures" and I finally understood why Jor-El choose Lionel as his host/avatar or whatever. Jor-El assumed that, as a Trill, Lionel would be better equipped to handle the joining. Clearly Jor-El didn't see the end of the episode...

I wish I could speak *ALL* the languages

You guys, I just found a Kirk/Spock Aladdin AU... in French. I am so sad right now.
Time to get in my complaint for the day. If you've created a fan work based off of a work originally from Japan, and your work involves dudes getting it on with other dudes, or at least wanting to, then please feel free to tag it as Yaoi. A Japanese term is reasonable appropriate to use on something that is derivative of a Japanese work. However, if the original work is not Japanese, if it's an American TV show, a British book series, an Indian movie, a Chilean comic book, whatever, and you use the term Yaoi, I *will* assume you are a thirteen year old girl, and I *will* pass your story by. Period, end of sentence. The word is slash, people; use it.
